Seeing as I haven’t updated this blog in quite awhile, I figured (with some encouraging from my girlfriend) that I’d post an update.
Since May, when I last posted, I have finished my Bible courses fully and maybe more important, I met my girlfriend in December.
She stayed about a week and we had a wonderful time, cementing the knowledge that we are in love and not just feelings, but how we connect in person.
We had two snowfalls while she was here, one surprising and other not so much, but the second one caused her and her mom to stay an extra day! So, it was a blessing. We also made a mini-snowwoman together.
Our first date was at a Cracker Barrel, pretty late around 10pm! But it was wonderful. I had a ham sandwich and I don’t remember what Meagan had, but she wasn’t too hungry. She was tired and I think more excited just to get home to cuddle, which we did.
Our first hug took place outside of Cracker Barrel as we met and ran to each other. We hugged, had our first kiss and went inside. After that we went home and cuddled for a long time. It was nice.
The next day we spent the entire day prepping for a Christmas party with 3 of my closest friends and their wives. It was really great seeing them all again, especially one of them, Nathan, who was moving to Arizona a day or two later.
Meagan cooked gumbo with deer sausage and shrimp. Delicious!
After that, we cuddled all night…I should say we did that every night.
Sunday we went to my church and she instantly loved it. She wants to get married there.
We were originally going to the mall to see Narnia and shop around, but Meagan’s mom had a headache and it was just a rainy sort of day. We went to Pino’s, a local Italian place, and I had to let her try their garlic knots…wow they’re so good and she and her mom loved it.
Meagan and I had a calzone, her mom had spaghetti, as did my mom. It was a very delicious meal.
The next day we went to VCU to get a tour of the campus as she strongly wanted to go there eventually and still does. We also had a bit of snow surprisingly. After the tour, which was good, we had food at 5 Guys, my first time there, and it was pretty good.
The next day we went to the mall, saw the Narnia movie, and walked around. A pretty good day ended by some DAiry Queen.
Wednesday we sort of just hung out and went to Pino’s again to have a pizza. Then the weather made it ice over on the roads near where they were going to go, so they decided to stay another night. We were happy, of course, about it.
The next night was our last night for that visit and we cried together and later said farewell.
But we’ll see each other again, soon we hope.
I love you Meagan.
